ERRORS OF THE HUMAN BODY
The human body contains many secrets and some wounds are too deep to ever be healed.
In a mysterious laboratory in snow-cloaked Dresden, visiting Canadian scientist Geoff Burton finds himself working on a clandestine project to divine the human regeneration gene. However, haunted by personal tragedy and a past he can't escape, Burton falls deeper and deeper into the treacherous outer reaches of genetic engineering.
Eron Sheean (William, MIFF 06; Fish, MIFF 05) makes his feature film directorial debut with psycho-scientific thriller Errors of the Human Body. Accelerator alumnus and the Festival's Emerging Australian Filmmaker of the Year in 2006, Sheean has constructed a deeply assured and haunting parable for the science of our time and the looming menace that so often sits on the other side of discovery. Starring Michael Eklund (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus), Karoline Herfurth (The Reader) and Rik Mayall, the film was co-written by Shane Danielsen and features a score by Melbourne composer Anthony Pateras.
Eron Sheean is a guest of the festival.
