BLIND
"An effortlessly beautiful and touching film … Blind is a rare combination of heart and brains, creativity and wit." – Film School Rejects
After losing her sight as an adult, Ingrid begins a slow retreat from the world. Encapsulated in the safety of her home and her head, she turns to fictions she builds around the memory of the things she could once see. But as the worlds in her mind become increasingly detailed and consuming, the barriers between reality and fantasy become ever more difficult to discern.
Winning the Sundance Best Screenplay award and the Berlinale Best European Film award, acclaimed screenwriter Eskil Vogt (Oslo, 31 August, MIFF 2012; Reprise, MIFF 2007) makes his directorial debut with this confident and quick-witted journey into the inner workings of a mind unleashed by blindness. Visually arresting and with a Kaufman-esque sense of narrative unpredictability, Blind is a psychosexual thriller of the highest order: taut, twisting, and full of surprises.
"A sparkling directorial debut ... a lithe, quicksilver portrait of a woman whose loss of sight only serves to sharpen her creative imagination." – Variety
