THE BORING LIFE OF JACQUELINE

Director Sebastián Silva / 2012 / USA

Sebastián Silva takes to the small screen for a tale of dreaming big and living desperately.

Meet Jacqueline (Jaclyn Jonet), New York's next big star – if only someone would notice her. With her acting prospects few and far between, she fills her days leaving voicemail messages for a friend who never calls her back, lusting after her attractive doorman and fantasising about the less boring things she'd rather be doing.

Made for HBO Digitals, co-starring Silva regular Gaby Hoffman and featuring a cameo from Michael Cera, the 10-episode series plumbs the depths of 20-something neuroses in these always online but never truly connected times. Cooped up in her apartment, Jacqueline's life is a constant parade of embarrassing moments, with a frequently updated Twitter timeline to prove it.

"Like Roman Polanski's Repulsion remade as a slightly less creepy romantic comedy." – New York Times
