Black Hole
Winner of two Locarno Leopards of Tomorrow awards, this stunning portrait of adolescent abandon unfolds at the threshold of emerging maturity.
Beautifully acted and filmed, Black Hole depicts a young skateboarder on the verge of being sent away by his parents due to unsatisfactory grades. Hankering for a final hurrah, he dives into a night of revelry – ollies, joints, drinks with his mates – until a chance encounter sets him on the path towards growth.
Writer/director Tristan Aymon has distilled the twin teen desires for freedom and rebellion into a breezy yet subdued story about masculinity, skate culture and the tender camaraderie it fosters.
