MIFF Talks: Brett Morgen’s Moonage Daydream

Take a masterclass with visionary director Brett Morgen, exploring his sublime new David Bowie film.

The first director to be given unfettered access to Bowie’s estate, Morgen (Jane, Cobain: Montage of Heck, The Kid Stays in the Picture) discusses how he made the thrillingly immersive Moonage Daydream, which recently premiered at Cannes. Morgen worked on this kaleidoscopic project for the last five years, unearthing hundreds of hours of never-before-seen footage, and his eclectic, idiosyncratic eye carefully stitches these together with original music stems and pieces of Bowie’s extensive personal archive. Hosted by Zan Rowe.
