LAST DAY OF SUMMER

Director Derek Banham / 1983 / UK

A shy, unattractive young woman comes to live in a commune in a large house by the river. She is out of place in the relaxed atmosphere of the group, and wins only an amused tolerance from its members.

Her only close friendship is with another 'outsider , a 12 year old orphan boy. During the summer, she blossoms in confidence, becoming a sort of housemother to the commune.
