AT THE CINEMA PALACE - LIAM O'LEARY

Director Donald Taylor Black / 1983 / Ireland

A loving tribute to Liam O'Lcary, theatre director, actor, film-maker, critic and historian of international reputation and, in more recent years, archivist of the cinema in Ireland.

A proud and passionately independent man. he tells the storyof his own life illustrated by stills, film-clips and contributions from, amongst others, Cyril Cusack, Lindsay Anderson, Michael Powell, Kevin Brownlow, Sir Denis Forman, Brendan Stafford and Sean MacBnde.

"At The Cinema Palace" also deals with theatrical, social and cultural history, and makes a strong argument for a state-funded national film archive in Ireland.
