Folded Follies

Director Van McElwee / 1993 / USA

The rigorously experimental Folded Follies is an improvisation on Bernard Ischumi's decon-structionist follies at Pare la Villette in Paris. The structures, which the architect has described as "posthumanist", are translated into motion and subjected to a radical transformation. Unusual demands are made of the recording capability of the medium, as video and audio signals are pushed to extremes and the follies are literally folded in time.
