TWO DAYS
This mockumentary with a death-wish was a sell-out at Rotterdam Film Festival where it delighted audiences with its combination of macabre black humour and, well, more macabre black humour! Paul Miller (Paul Rudd, The Chateau, MIFF 2001) is an almost talented LA actor at the end of his tether. He has vowed to kill himself within 48 hours unless a big break in the movie biz presents itself.
An aspiring director and his stoner student crew tag along to document the doomed thesps' last days, tangled up in sound cables and their own film-school documentary pretensions. They soon come to realise that they face a tough moral dilemma: do they allow Miller to kill himself or compromise their creative objectivity ... not to mention a lucrative TV deal? Minor celebrity cameos abound and the laughs are further enhanced by an ace cast playing a parade of concerned but Prozac-numbed parents, ambitious ex-girlfriends and sleazy disloyal pals.
