IN MY SKIN
Dans ma Peau
Esther is in her 30s and freelances for a public relations firm. She's ready to make some changes in her life—the possibility of accepting a regular position within the company, and also settling down with her boyfriend, Vincent, are tempting propositions. One night while walking in a dark garden, she falls down and gashes her leg. It is a nasty cut, but Esther doesn't think much of it until a few days later when all kinds of strange things start happening to her body, including auto-cannibalism.
Marina de Van. who frequently collaborates, as writer and actor, with Francois Ozon (Swimming Pool, screening at MIFF this year) makes an erotically charged, startling directorial debut, in addition to writing the screenplay and playing Esther, with In My Skin.
