MUDDY WATERS: CAN'T BE SATISFIED

Director Morgan Neville, Robert Gordon / 2002 / USA

The first comprehensive documentary of the man who pioneered electric blues and paved the way for rock and roll. When Bob Dylan went electric, he hired young white musicians who had learned from Muddy Waters in Chicago and many of the bluesman's tunes have entered popular music through performances by Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. These musicians also embraced the elements that Waters exemplified: an unflinching belief in honesty and deep emotion in music.
