After splitting up with her partner, a young mother externalises her feelings of loss and resentment through the family’s possessions. In this devastating depiction of the complexities of relationships, objects are both lines in the sand and triggers for memory as a woman wrestles with suburban normalcy post-breakup. Using mixed media to capture its protagonist’s fragmented mental state, and bolstered by a frenetic, clanging score, this film is another impressive work by Accelerator Lab alumnus Sarah-Jane Woulahan (A Terrible Beauty, MIFF 2016; Acts of God, MIFF 2014).
