First MIFF films revealed

For our platinum anniversary year, we’re celebrating in style. MIFF returns to cinemas from 4 to 21 August with an expansive program of acclaimed international cinema, world premieres and a ready-made Australian classic set to debut at the Opening Night Gala.

Ahead of the full program announcement on Tuesday 12 July, check out a snapshot of this year’s eagerly awaited program.

Opening Night Gala: Of an Age

Goran Stolevski delivers a heart-meltingly tender, quintessentially Melbourne queer coming-of-age tale that will make you swoon from beginning to end.

Supported by the MIFF Premiere Fund, Of an Age captures the hinterland of suburbia, the strains of immigrant families, and the crossroads of desire and big dreams in teenage years, as well as lip-biting moments of attraction and anticipation.
