The Paris End x MIFF: Post-Screening Speed Dating Event. 11 August, 9.30pm – 11.00pm at Festival Hub. 
After the screening of The Cars That Ate Paris (Peter Weir’s classic comedy of the macabre – one of the most influential films of the 70s Australian New Wave), you are invited to join us for a unique post-screening speed dating event.

Intimate Pre-Screening Event for Us and the Night. 12 August, 7.30pm-8.30pm at Festival Hub.
Join us for an intimate Q&A session between friends Audrey Lam (writer, director, and producer of Us and the Night) and filmmaker Lucy Kostos. The discussion will delve into resourceful filmmaking, the nuances of Super 8 and 16mm film processing, and the decade-long journey of creating a feature film.

Producers Talk Letterboxd: Discussion, Discovery and Disgust. 19 August, 7.00pm – 8.30pm at Campari Cinema Lounge. 
Hosted by film critic and filmmaker Digby Houghton (this year employed by Letterboxd to review films for MIFF), a panel of producers including Ruby Davis (Arenamedia), Audrey Lam (the filmmaker behind Us and the Night, MIFF 2024), Garden Reflexxx (Grape Steak, 2023), Rhys Graham (Rewards for the Tribe, MIFF 2024) and a surprise mystery guest will read out their favourite reviews personally received, read or written on Letterboxd, before exploring considerations of audience when producing films in what promises to be a beautiful, funny, unhinged and insightful event about diverse producing experiences.

Sounds Behind the Screen: Film Composers and a Music Supervisor Talk Soundtracks. 20 August, 7.00pm – 8.00pm at The Festival Hub. 
Join us for a panel discussion featuring local composers Chiara Costanza Kickdrum (composer for Inside premiering at MIFF 2024 and Heartbreak High), Evelyn Ida Morris (musician and composer for Acute Misfortune), Zayd Thring (Composer for the Award Winning short film 'Three Poems' (2014), AppleTV's 'Rehab Cabin' (2022) & musician Pets With Pets since 2006)  and Melbourne’s music supervisor extraordinaire Jemma Burns (Inside 2024, Beau is Afraid 2023, Foe 2023, and more). Moderated by Danny Gordon AKA DJ Danny Issues (Skylab presenter and one-half of the DJ duo Misty Nights,) this event will provide insights into the world of film soundtracks and selections.

Frame Documentary Showcase. 22 August, 10am - 6pm
