Accessibility

Forum has a main entrance located on Flinders Street.

The main entrance has a small step up to two central doors.

For step-free/wheelchair access, there is a ramped entry way through the right side of the main entrance.

To access the cinema, there are large railed staircases to the left and right of the foyer. The two staircases contain multiple levels of steps that lead to an upstairs mezzanine containing a bar and refreshment area.

For step-free/wheelchair access to the cinema level, there is a lift along the corridor on the left of the entrance foyer. Please see a MIFF Front of House staff member for lift access.

Please see How to Book Your Ticket if you require step-free and/or wheelchair access at Forum.

Please note: In 2024, all MIFF sessions at Forum will be allocated seating. Please see How to Book Your Ticket if you require step-free and/or wheelchair accessible seating and please ensure you allow time to find your allocated seat. Please see a MIFF FOH staff member or Volunteer for assistance.

Entry into the cinema is at the front. There are three (3) rows of fixed seats that have step-free access at the front of the cinema. Further rows are only accessible by stairs which do not have a handrail.

Forum has four (4) wheelchair-accessible spaces available at the front of the cinema immediately on the right, when entering the cinema from the lift. The wheelchair spaces are on the left side of the cinema when facing the screen.

Each seat is cushioned, covered in soft fabric and has arm rests.

Forum has alternate seating options if the stairs or cinema seating are not suitable. The moveable plastic chairs are without armrests.

Assistive Listening: Forum will have Assistive Listening units available for collection at the MIFF Box Office for use at specific screenings.

Please see How to Book Your Ticket section to book an assistive listening device. You may be required to leave photo ID when borrowing a device. Please approach a MIFF Front of House staff member for assistance when you arrive at the venue.

There are bathrooms located on the ground level through the main double doors into Forum I and to the right of the main foyer. There are additional bathrooms on the mezzanine on the left and right sides of the bar.
